    Description
    Objectives

    1. Identify and illustrate NASW Code standards that relate to Supervision.
    2. Apply Supervisory Code standards to scenarios that include ethical dilemmas.
    3. Using the collective consideration of the supervisors present, identify elements of models for ethical supervision decisions.

    Rationale of Program

    The program is designed to help social work professionals perform supervisory duties in an ethical manner. The program identifies the NASW Code of Ethics standards that relate to supervision and provides several alternatives for applying these standards to situations where there are competing values. The session ends with the collective construction of ethical models for addressing social work supervision in several settings.

    Presenter
    Rich Hennicke,MSW, LCSW, ACSW is a 1977 graduate of the Master’s program at the School of Social Work at Saint Louis University. His professional career includes direct service, supervision, management, program development and advocacy. In his current role as Director of Grants and Social Services with Nurses for Newborns Foundation Rich guides the agency’s social work program and secures funding to expand and diversify services for infants and their families. Rich teaches as an adjunct professor with the Saint Louis University School of Social Work and serves on several local boards and committees including the St. Louis Council on Child Abuse and Neglect and the Missouri Association for Social Welfare.

    The University of Missouri, Missouri Institute of Mental Health will be responsible for this program and maintain a record of your continuing education credits earned.
    The Missouri Institute of Mental Health will award 2 clock hours or 2.4 contact hours (.2 CEU) for this activity.
